Lu Jingyan, an investment-fund manager who lives and dies by logic and numbers, faces losing everything as his uncle uses dirty-PR maneuvers to seize the inheritance of the Lu Group, all while he discovers that every one of those maneuvers was lifted verbatim from a million-view dog-blood drama. Forced to play an unconventional hand, he hires Wen Mian, the screenwriter behind that drama, to turn the succession war into a stage where only she knows the script in advance. But as two people from opposite worlds are forced to fight shoulder to shoulder, they slowly learn that the hardest battle is not bringing down the enemy, but admitting what neither logic nor any twist could have predicted.
